Brett Fullerton - Saginaw Spirit - OHL

I recently joined the Shoot for Success family this year and the support that I have received from Mitch has been unreal. All the calls and knowledge he has can really help hockey players choose the pathway that is best for them and that’s exactly what he did for me. Mitch helped me advance into the league on the team that I wanted to play on.

Griffin Wilson - University of Guelph - Usports

When I was exploring my hockey options Mitch was very helpful in mapping my different paths. He was very informative in explaining the NCAA route from his past experience. He takes time to sit down with you and lay out a plan that works with your needs. He was genuinely interested in my success. I was fortunate enough to make it to the OHL and appreciate that Mitch still takes time to talk hockey and provide advice.

Dylan Ghaemi - Stonehill College - NCAA D1

When I was exploring options for both junior and college hockey Mitch was exceptionally knowledgeable in every step of that process. I had full confidence in every decision I made because of the knowledge he provided me with. I was lucky enough to commit to NCAA Division 1 Stonehill College and appreciate everything Mitch has done for me!

Carter Lennon - SUNY Potsdam - NCAA D3

Mitch has been an amazing advisor for the past five years. His knowledge of junior hockey and the NCAA put me in the best position to get noticed and be successful in my search for a college hockey program. Mitch’s relationships with junior and college organizations created smooth and easy methods of contact that allowed me to obtain as much information as possible to make the decision that was best for me. Mitch was always there when I needed him for advice or had questions. Mitch could also relate from his own experiences which helped in the decision process. My family and I have been very happy and grateful for the work that Mitch has done in helping me play NCAA hockey. I highly recommend his service.

Tyler Schwindt - Elmira College - NCAA D3

I was first introduced to Mitch and Shoot for Success five years ago in 2017. I was one of his first clients. He took the time to visit my home and sit down with my family and I. My experience with Mitch and his mentorship has been exceptional. Throughout the years he has remained in constant contact with me and has taken the time to provide advice, encouragement and instruction. Mitch has helped me achieve my goal of playing college hockey for an incredible school while also getting a great education. I committed to Elmira College and cannot thank Mitch enough for his support throughout my hockey journey.

Justin Easter - Norwich University - NCAA D3

Mitch’s experience in the game of hockey was very valuable. He is insightful on what programs would be of good fit and had the answers to my questions. Shoot for Success helped me navigate the waters of junior hockey into college which can be extremely difficult. I’m glad I had Mitch there for me. I am very grateful for Mitch’s help and appreciate everything he has done for me.

Anthony Lucarelli - Powell River Kings - BCHL

I began working with Mitch a couple years back and right from the start he was easy to get along with. He is very knowledgeable and genuinely cares about your career path. After a few phone calls we joined Shoot for Success and I am very happy I did. Together we made a path to help guide me through the complicated route to get to the NCAA. He has many connections and contacts with teams across Canada and NCAA schools. Recently I have committed to the Powell River Kings in the BCHL and Mitch has given me great advice on what to expect. We will work together on trying to reach my goal of playing NCAA hockey. Shoot for Success is a great program that is there for your every need.

Nick Giamou - Rivier University - NCAA D3

During an unprecedented overage junior hockey season, Mitch helped me and my family navigate through the NCAA process. As a former NCAA athlete himself, Mitch is able to directly connect to a player’s needs and is able to educate families on the different pathways you can choose. He is able to utilize his personable skills and past playing experiences to help advise strong career decisions. Mitch truly cares about his clients as people and always has their best interest. With Shoot for Success’ help, I will be attending Rivier University in the NCAA for the 2021-22 season. I wish nothing but continued success for Mitch and Shoot for Success in the future.

Corson Searles - Bryn Athyn College - NCAA D3

My experience working with Mitch at Shoot for Success was well worth the investment. What he has provided me with was the guidance and help I needed to find NCAA schools, figure out who was interested, learn how to contact them properly, and then figure out what school was right for me. Any questions I had he was quick to answer, any request I had he took the extra time to do it for me if it was beneficial. The Shoot for Success program allowed me to focus on my hockey game this season so I could fully enjoy it and put my best self on the ice everyday. The program took a lot of the stress away from the NCAA process. Without Mitch, I may have found a school, but it would have taken way more time and energy on my end to make it happen, which would have taken away from enjoyment of my last year of junior hockey. I am happy with my school selection and am happy I chose to work with the Shoot for Success program.

Mauro D’Allessandro - King's College - NCAA D3

Mitch played junior hockey and graduated at the collegiate level while playing the sport he loves. The way he expresses his experiences while playing college hockey is motivational and you can tell he wants every kid who loves the game to experience the same relationships and memories he did, no matter where your career takes you. Mitch has such a large network of relationships with so many coaches and other personnel. I was never the kid to have many options with regards to hockey and choosing which team I wanted to play for. However, Mitch put in the time and effort to seek out schools. I ended up having a great selection of schools that had my preferred courses as well as first class athletics programs. I am now proud to say that I will be attending college to continue my hockey career as well as further my education to become an architect. What separates Mitch from everyone else is that he’s your friend before your advisor. He is someone that you can talk to about anything, even if it’s not hockey related. I hope whoever reads this takes the chance on Mitch because I promise you, he’s worth it.

David Dew - Alvernia university - NCAA D3

Navigating the college hockey process is an intimidating realm. It’s hard to know where to even begin. Luckily I was able to get in touch with Mitch and Shoot for Success. Mitch has been through the process and knows it by heart. Through his contacts I was able to not only speak with multiple coaches, but learn how to speak with them and present myself in the best way possible. Mitch helped me with my collegiate process but consistently offered advice that will stick with me much longer than my 4 years of college hockey. He works extremely hard for his clients in a very professional manner and the results show. We set a goal for me to play collegiate hockey, and now I’ll be playing at Alvernia University this fall. I’m grateful to be a part of the Shoot for Success program and I recommend it to anyone looking for representation. Mitch will do everything in his power to assist you in your goals and dreams, just as he did for me. I’m very excited for Shoot for Success and its future growth.

Tate Leeson - Peoria Rivermen - SPHL

My experience working with Mitch at Shoot for Success was well worth it. He provided me with guidance and helped me find an NCAA school that was right for me. Shoot for Success discovered what NCAA teams were interested and taught me how to communicate with coaches properly. All from working with Mitch, he helped me find the best fit in a short period of time. I’d say anyone that is having trouble finding a school to message Mitch at Shoot for Success.

Lucas Trimarchi - Toronto Patriots - OJHL

Over the past year that I have been with Shoot for Success they have helped me sign at the Jr. B level and now Jr. A with the Toronto Patriots in the OJHL. During that time Mitch and I have grown a strong relationship. Mitch has helped me tremendously throughout the whole process of signing in Jr. B and now Jr. A for the 2020/21 season. I was always overlooked as a hockey player, many people have doubted me. Mitch was one of those few people in my life that believed in me and continuously told me that I had the talent and work ethic to pursue whatever I wanted in the hockey world. For a young athlete speaking from experience, all we need is one or a couple of people that take a chance and believe in us. Mitch was that person and he believed and took a chance on me. Throughout the whole process of navigating my way to the NCAA Mitch has been a big part of why I am where I am today.

Cedric Le Sieur - Liberty University - ACHA D1

As a hockey player there are many options when it comes to consultants, picking the right one is often a daunting and complicated venture for an athlete and their family. Choosing the right one for myself was no different. I was determined to find someone who I could build a good relationship with and after hearing about Shoot for Success through a friend I decided to give it a shot. From the first phone call I knew that Mitch had my best intentions in mind and had the knowledge and drive to bring me to the next level. Right away we went over my ambitions and came up with an action plan to help me achieve those objectives. Even through transitioning to a different team at the beginning of the season, Mitch was able to give me advice on how to go about everything as well as help me keep my confidence. We started immediately reaching out to schools that could be a good fit for me academically, financially and athletically. Within six weeks I was applying to schools and had built a relationship with multiple coaches at both the NCAA and ACHA D1 levels. Mitch coached me through the entire process of reaching out and speaking to coaches, applications and financial aid. At the end of it all we were able to find the perfect school for myself and my family to call home for the next four years at Liberty University. For a personable touch and great service I would recommend the Shoot for Success program and thank them for all it has done for me and my family.

Nathan King - University of Toledo - ACHA D1

Mitch gave me great advice and always was very friendly. Through his connections I was able to talk with NCAA and ACHA schools. When choosing a school he educated me not just on hockey but also the financials and academics. I thank Mitch for everything he’s done and taught me. Without Mitch and Shoot for Success I don’t think I would be where I’m at right now. I highly recommend anyone to Mitch if you are serious about hockey and getting to that next level. I’m happy to be playing hockey at the University of Toledo next year and look forward to these next four years as a Rocket!

Aaron Saul - Elmira College - head coach - NCAA D3

I had the opportunity to recruit Mitch Atkins while he was playing hockey in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League and liked what I saw from the beginning. Mitch played for me for 3 seasons at Elmira College. I have had the chance to work with many young men throughout my career and Mitch was one of the best character players that I have ever had. I think he learned a great deal throughout his three years and has learned first-hand through this experiences as a player what it takes to be a great athlete and team leader. If there is one thing that really stands out about Mitch, it is his passion for the game.  He is an unbelievably hard worker, competitor and teammate.

Paul Jennings - former general manager - GOJHL

Mitch Atkins is a player that has outworked his entire peer group at every level of hockey he has got to play and made many coaches look brilliant. He is and will always be one of the great stories in my hockey tenure as the kid who wouldn't take no for an answer and did it all in the most polite way and always took constructive feedback and used it to make himself a better player. He is also a great person, first and foremost. He is a perfect example of how hard work and belief in yourself outweighs the opinion a Coach/GM. I am proud to call him a friend and colleague.

Shayne Morrissey - Director - 14/94 Hockey Co.

I have known Mitch for the past two years when we met as teammates and roommates during his first season of pro hockey. We also played against each other in college. Mitch has grown incredibly as a player in such a short span, turning himself into an impact player at the pro level and great leader as well. Living with Mitch, it is easy to see his passion for his work, and the effort he puts in each day to help others succeed in the sport of hockey. His relentlessness is second to none, and shows with the success he has had thus far in moving players on to the next level. I would recommend any player looking to enhance their hockey career to take the next step and allow Mitch to help you achieve your goals!

Steve Hodson - Caledon Admirals - Head Coach - OJHL

I have had the pleasure of being involved with Mitch Atkins for a number of years now. I began my relationship with Mitch as the Head Coach and General Manager of the Cambridge Winter Hawks when I made a mid-season trade to acquire his playing rights. It was that off-season that Mitch was able to secure his opportunity to play Division 3 hockey at Elmira College. What was most impressive to me during that time was Mitch’s ability to promote himself and take control of his own destiny to secure a collegiate opportunity. Mitch started Shoot for Success during his playing days at Elmira through his own personal journey and never ending desire to help other student athletes reach their dreams. In 20 years of experience in Junior hockey seldom have I come across a young man with Mitch’s drive, sincerity, and respect for individuals in all walks of life. Mitch is now in the midst of his professional hockey career and yet remains focused on helping players and families through the connections he has built and the experience he has gained through his own journey. I am writing this testimonial unsolicited as a personal reference for those considering using the services of the Shoot for Success program. I believed in Mitch years ago when I acquired his playing rights and believe in him even more today as a young man who endeavours to help others. I would encourage any family or young student athlete to engage Mitch as a resource to assist them. The drive, work ethic and respect this young man has will impress you. You will not be mislead or disappointed. I am happy to take any phone call to discuss Mitch as you “Shoot for Success”.

Charl Pretorius - South African National Team - WC D3

Playing college hockey was the greatest experience of my life. In four years I made many memories and friendships that cannot be broken. The college hockey experience brought me one of my best friends and someone who I consider a part of my family, Mitch Atkins. I had the privilege of being Mitch’s college teammate for three years, and lived with him my junior year at Elmira. I can say with no hesitation, his immense passion and drive to further the game of hockey is unmatched. He is a genuine, down to earth guy who will not stop in his efforts to help a player reach their ultimate goal of playing at the highest level. In the quest to find the college of best fit Mitch goes far and beyond to establish a connection with not only the players, but their families as well. During my time at Elmira I watched him work relentlessly to drive the building blocks of Shoot for Success into place. For the most personal experience, I cannot think of a better person to handle college enquiries than Mitch. He has in depth knowledge on what it takes to play in the NCAA, not only as an athlete but from an academic standpoint as well. He has provided needed guidance to many young, aspiring hockey players looking to achieve the dream of playing collegiate hockey. What sets Mitch apart from other advisors is that you will never be just another client, you join the Shoot for Success family. If I had the chance I would want to be a part of the Shoot for Success program.
